My work has evolved from the North Devon landscape - an interpretation of my experiences and journeys. I do not have the facility to absorb images and experiences without the process of drawing, which has become an important part of my art practice. I have a need to paint and draw as a means to express myself.

Drawing and painting isn't about confirming what you think is there nor is it simply to make a recording of what is there - it goes deeper than that.

The painting or drawing is about the landscape, the texture of nature, the reflective quality of light and colour and the physicality of painting and drawing.

The personal mark making allows the painting or drawing an independence from the landscape and to have a life of its own.

I try through my art to make something that is exciting and interesting that might convey something to someone else.

I am a member of the North Devon Arts with whom I regularly exhibit and I have work permanently displayed at the Broomhill Art Hotel and Sculpture Gardens, Muddiford, Barnstaple.I am also represented by two other galleries in North Devon, the Appledore Gallery (tel: 01237 476729) and the Artstore Gallery, Barnstaple. Outside of North Devon I am represented by Bell Fine Art, Winchester. Annually I exhibit with "The Great British Landscape Exhibition" which is held at RHS Rosemoor, Torrington in the spring. Every June I open my studio during the Art Trek Open Studios event which is part of the North Devon Festival - 30 days in June. "One of the top 5 UK events" - The Times.
